ROBERT BURNS #243 Trestleboard, December 2007
From the East
Brethren,
After a year of planning and working for this day, the time has finally come. It’s time for me to roll up the sleeves and begin my tenure has Master of Robert Burns Lodge. I take this honor and privilege seriously and with a solemn promise to “do good unto all”. Your new slate of officers for this year have proved themselves to be hard working dedicated brothers who will assist me in our efforts to make Robert Burns Lodge the best it can be. By now, most all of you should have gotten the proposed calendar for the next year. As with all schedules, this calendar is subject to change, and I will make every effort to get any changes out in a timely fashion. For those of you that have internet access, the schedule will be posted on our web site located at www.robertburns243.org and that calendar schedule will be kept current and updated regularly.
I am very excited about the next year and I have planned several new events, speakers, and a couple of special meetings. One in particular will be the “Rusty Mason Degree” that is scheduled in September. The officers and I will be working on this at our Lodge Officer Meetings and other practices to be able to put on a very interesting and entertaining Degree. This is just one of the ideas we will be using to bring back to Lodge a few of our absent brothers. There is more to come about this later in the new year. I pledge that the meetings over the next year will be relevant, meaningful and completed in a timely manner.
Finally, I would like to thank all of you that helped to make this year’s installation a great event. I attended quite a few of the installations locally this year and I think that Robert Burns Lodge had one of the best in every respect. Things went very smoothly in planning, setup, and clean-up. The food and reception was outstanding thanks to WB John and Brita Sutton and of course I couldn’t keep my wife Chris from being involved as well. I also want to thank the Installing Masters for a great job.
Brethren one and all, Have a very Merry Christmas and a joyous new year. See you all in Lodge.
Fraternally,
Steve Wandel
Worshipful Master
From the West
Brethren,
I would like to take this
opportunity to thank WB John Sutton for all his hard work last year as
Worshipful Master; it was a great year. I know our new WM Steve Wandel has
an equally grand year planned for Robert Burns. I would also like to thank
the Brethren for their support and confidence in electing me as Senior Warden
for 2008; I am going to work hard to and full WM Steve’s shoes.
One point as a reminder, because the New Year’s holiday falls on the
first Tuesday and per Robert Burn’s bylaws, the stated meeting in January will
be held on the 22nd, check out the calendar here:

I hope everyone had a great
holiday season!
Be Well.
Fraternally,
John Hart
Senior Warden
From the South
Brethren,
Merry Christmas and best wishes for 2008. In the words of our MW Grand Master Wayne I. Smith, it is a great day to be a Mason and if we string enough great days together, it will be a great year.
A big thank you for everyone’s willingness to help with the Third Degree for Brother Mike Taylor. It was one of the best Third Degrees I have seen. Hopefully it was a great day for our newest Master Mason.
T. H. Little Chapter Order of DeMolay still meets twice a month (second and fourth Wednesdays) at Ashler Lodge. Your sponsorship of the Chapter is appreciated by the young men. Tanner Powell’s term as Master Councilor is near its end and we should be installing the new MC sometime in February. While 2007 had its ups and downs, overall it was a positive year and we are ready to have a great 2008.
The Sno-King Building Association meets twice a month. We hope in the very near future to have an accurate design and construction cost estimate. Your representatives on the association board are WB Ernie McCasland, WB John Sutton and I. Please let us know what you would like to see in our new building.
See you in Lodge!
Fraternally,
Jim Hamlin
Junior Warden
